Ancient history
I've been going through some old photos of Aria, and found several I couldn't resist sharing even though they are no longer the current Aria of today. I'll post more over the next few days. This ultra-cute one is from two months ago. Notice how her hair was darker back then. Photo taken April 29, 2009.

Our Day at the Ocean
Aria, Mommy and Daddy had a wonderful experience today when we went to a small park north of Bellingham. We hiked through the woods and down to the beach to find that the tide was out and there was a beautiful sandy beach. Aria had a great time playing in the sand and wading in the water. We spent a couple of hours enjoying ourselves until the tide came in and the beach disappeared. Videos taken June 25, 2009.

Fun Orcas Weekend
Aria got to spend a 3 day weekend on Orcas Island a couple weeks ago and, as you might expect, she had a great time. On the first day she walked around on our land and, as you can see in the video, got very good at walking on the bumpy driveway. We could see how she was getting great enjoyment as her walking ability improved. On the next day we visited the Island's farmers' market. Aria enjoyed listening to music, visiting with people and dogs, and eating. On the last day we went to the beach at Obstruction Pass with our island friends, Harold and Elsie. Quite a nice weekend. Aria says "Water"
Aria's starting to say a few words. I just love this video of her saying and signing "water". Her eyes dance as she feels the excitement of an "aha" moment. As you watch this video, you'll certainly hear her saying "wa" for "water". Notice also that she brings her index finger up to her mouth each time. This is her version of the sign for water. Just out of sight of the camera, Mommy is showing her the correct sign, which is three fingers held up to the mouth. Video taken May 31, 2009.
