Aria the Painted Girl

Aria gets to paint in the tub a couple of times each week now. We can be in the middle of doing something downstairs and ask her "Would you like to go paint?" and she will light up and say "paint tub," head upstairs to the tub, and start to pull the paint containers out of the drawer where they are stored and put them in the tub. After painting we start the water in the tub for clean up and she likes to get a cloth wet and wipe the paint off the walls. We usually need to do a little touch up work afterward but she does a pretty good job cleaning up. In this video I turned the monitor so that it faced her so she talked to the camera a lot. It was fun to show her this video on the computer after we recorded it. When the Aria in the video would wave and say "hi" Aria would wave back and say "hi." She is so social. Aria Rides Her New Trike

Aria's friend Brendan kindly gave his old trike to Aria a few weeks ago along with a complete rain suit, something she really needs as an active child in the rainy Northwest. This video was taken the day Brendan and his mom Robin brought the trike over. As you can see Aria really enjoys it. Since this time Aria often will tell us "Trike! Trike! Trike!" to let us know that she wants to go outside to ride her trike. Sometimes she makes a trip through the whole neighborhood on the trike (with one of us pushing, of course). Aria the Painter and a Halloween Elephant

Aria had a fun time before bath time last night. She got to paint the tub (and herself) with finger paints.



















Move over Picasso and Jackson Pollack. You had better beware. Here is the up and coming abstract artist.























Here's a photo of Aria and Mommy just after Aria got back from visiting our neighbors as an elephant on Halloween night. Not too many of the neighbors were scared by the elephant at their door and they all gave her a trunkful of candy, which she is slowly enjoying.
